Memphis Tree Board

Mission

The mission of the Memphis Tree Board is to advocate for the health, safety and sustainability of public trees and to raise awareness of the contributions trees make to our quality of life.

About

In 2014, the seven member Memphis Tree Board was formed as an advisory board to Memphis Parks.

Established by Ordinance 5494, the tree board serves “as an advisory board and recommends policies and practices to the director of park services and neighborhoods that have positive contributions to the establishment, management, enhancement, maintenance, and conservation of public trees in the City of Memphis.”

Since 2014, Memphis has earned designation from the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA. Annual Tree City USA Growth Awards have been consistently conferred to Memphis as recognition for “higher levels of tree care and community engagement during the calendar year.”

The Tree Board holds eight public meetings annually on the third Thursday from 3:00-4:15 pm.
